Significant trends in public opinion have for now been the basis for contrast between the prescriptions of the Iranian patriarchal and conservative regime and the level of engagement Iranian women in the political and social welfares. In the recent past there has been a widening gap between the realities of Iranian WomenÂ’s participation in public life and the legally restricted status of women. This was especially after president Ahmadinejad 2006 proclamation that women should resume their family life and attend to their chief responsibility of rearing children. Despite the indignation and shock that met this proclamation from Iranian women, Iranian women have become emboldened in staging legal reformist campaigns. They have refuted their containment behind the walls of domesticity portraying a great deal of psychological endurance and strength. This is mainly through highly participating in tertiary education. But the Iranian government has resorted to a highly repressive and intolerant approach to womenÂ’s groups. This is largely evidenced in relation to secular-oriented feminism.
