If there is a threat that is menacing enough to man’s environment to warrant dire attention, then it is wildfire. This is due to the ubiquitous, pervasive and volatile nature that wildfire takes. The ubiquitous and pervasive nature of wildfire enables it to ravage vegetation cover in any part of the world except the Antarctica. Wildfires are normally too volatile and difficult to handle, given their unprecedented and impromptu nature with which they attack. The gravity of the matter being based on the fact that wildfire destroys soil, vegetation cover, wildlife and the ecosystem, one would readily surmise that the US government has made painstaking measures to tame it. On the contrary, this is partially untrue.

Although the US government has made painstaking efforts to contain wildfires by availing the instruments of firefighting, yet it is saIDening to note that these instruments are not efficiently being used. In this case, matters akin to the maintenance of the firefighting instruments are the levity of the matter. The crux of the matter is that the personnel charged with the mandate to arrest, contain and prevent wildfires are not well versed with the know-how of the efficient use of these instruments.
