Introduction:  

The war of 1812 has come to be known as the “Forgotten War” or the “Second War of Independence”[1]. This war refers to the battle that was fought from, June of 1812 to the spring of 1815, between the Great Britain and the United States. The main territory where the real battle took place was in the Canadian border, in what is today called as the Chesapeake Bay Region, along the Gulf of Mexico. Further fighting between the two nations also occurred in the sea. The conflict resulting into this war was primarily due to the United States’ resentment of the naval harassment[2] on their ships by the Great Britain. It is important to note that at the same time, Great Britain was also at war with France. Britain initially seized American ships and charted away the cargo from the ships, and to aID insult to injury, took the crew and other travelers mainly of United States nationality. They are also reported to have consistently attempted to obstruct the US ships from getting into the French ports.
