Executive summary
Apple started with a mission that states that “change the world through technology.” In this case the company strived to make personal company more affordable and accessible to the general public. The increase in the number of software and hardware technology radically transformed the industry which forced Apple to adopt the differentiation strategy which instilled a bit of ‘versatility’, reliability, and superiority in performance of its range of products which was lack before.
However just like other industries, the fast changing dynamism of this industry forced Apple to adopt a competitive strategy that it deemed essentially for its survival at the time. Essentially this competitive strategy failed to mature into the ‘realized’ strategy, which as the empirical evidence have confirmed, forms ten to thirty percent of the intended strategy in normal circumstances.
