Iago expects and manipulate the rest of the characters in such a perfect manner that they all appear to be acting concurrently of their free will but as Othellos puppet. For instance, it takes Iago the slightest prompting to put Othello into an appropriate frame of mind for jealousy to take the better part of him. Iago also uses Cassios discomfort on seeing Othello by taking it as his confession of guilt (Coulthard, 25). Iagos understanding of Cassios exit, together with Desdemonas vigorous advocating on his (Cassio) behalf, bleeds suspicion in the mind of Othello before Iago prompt him (Othello). Othello demonstrates his confusion when he tell his wife that he would like to be left alone, and also by refusing his wifes offer to assist with the excuse that he is unwell.
