Just a few days ago the United States government found its self on a tight spot in the face of the federal government shut down following a budget impasse. The federal government was already making necessary advanced preparations in the face of a possible shut down as Republicans and Democrats battled it out on negotiations that were held at Capitol Hill with government spending package being the main topic of contest. The negotiation ended up on President Obama signing a late Friday stopgap measure that that thwarted the shut down of the federal government in a last minute accord by congress which funds it. Different newspapers in the United States carried out different version of the same story each trying to display the story in the most interesting way possible to capture the interests of the reader. In paper is going to focus on three version of the story as reported by the Bloomberg, The Herald Tribune and The Washington Post.

In regard to the Washing Post the headline was very captivating citing that the shutdown of the federal government had been averted but a bigger problem still loomed between Obama and the congress in the battles over the governments spending impasse. The Authors of this article look at the issue from the point of view that though the closure of the Federal government had been narrowly averted, the deal set a platform for a bigger and more consequential battle to come over fiscal spending between president Obama, the Republicans and the Senate controlled by Democrats.
