Introduction

Mentoring involves interaction though advice between two people where by one is more experienced than the other. For the process mentoring to be successful, there should be trust and friendships between mentor and the youth. The work of a mentor is different from that of a parent and teachers since their role is only to advice the where about of the youth.  Youth are at high risk of being victims of community vices hence they require some advice to precaution their behaviors. Youth have high risk since they are influenced by their peer to engage in criminal activities and probably use of drugs and substance (Morley, E. Rossman, 1997).

Therefore mentoring is Important in up keeping the youth that were left out or intervening the youth to compromise their behavior. Mentoring involves a working positively towards bridging youth behaviors, it comprises of constructing a harmonious family where youth are responsible and well disciplined as they get to maturity (Dubois, 2005). The program is aimed at introducing the youth to the justice system in a friendlier manner. The focus is on the youth that are rebellious and are always on the opposing side of the society and the law. Mentoring may help them realize their wrong and also offer them opportunity to join back with the community, development personal skills and getting introduced back into the society (Morley, E. Rossman, 1997).  There are various themes involved in mentoring youth at risk they include the Social integration whereby main aim of running the mentoring program, the main aim is to get the youth in the upright behavioral display.
