This paper is a research proposal that is meant to examine the social stigma that is associated with high school dropouts when the dropouts realize they are labeled with that kind of social stigma and that their self acceptance to the rest of the society is compromised by the fact that they are high school drop outs. Among other methods of collecting data for the analysis of the subject matter of the research, a sample of high school dropouts from Mexican and San Antonio, Texas will be interviewed to be able to understand why there exists a social stigma emotionally involved with the high school dropouts, the time the dropouts realize that they are labeled with that social stigma and their self acceptance of being high school drop outs
