Community health nursing is a discipline that uses evidence-based research, scientific advances, and new approaches to improve health. The practice deliberately considers the community’s cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds to ensure suitable interactions and sensitivity when working with them.  

The mission of community health nursing is to promote, protect, and preserve the public’s health.  

Community health nurses provide education to community members on maintaining their health, helping them mitigate the occurrence of diseases and deaths. They plan educational assemblies, hand out fliers, conduct health screenings, dispense medications, and administer immunizations.

In this assignment, you will plan and present a community health event through a four- to five-minute video. Each of the following components of the community health nursing presentation is required:

Select a community-based institution (e.g., a school, community center) and provide:
An official website
Demographics (e.g., age, race, gender)
Topic to present
Provide a topic you will present to the chosen community
Rationale and intention for presentation
Give two to three reasons why you want to present the topic and how you intend your presentation to affect the community.
