1. From your own perspective and in your own words, what is the importance of learning the history of working women in the <link is hidden> />
As previously stated, this is a class about women’s contemporary work issues told through concepts, theories, history and contemporary topics. The question that this Brief Response Paper must address (in your words and not words from the class introduction) is what is the importance of learning the history of working women in the <link is hidden> For example, does history tell us how things such as society, institutions, legal frameworks, culture, etc. got to be a certain way? That is, does it help us to understand how government and business operations function and their influence on our day-to-day life? Does exploring history provide us with an understanding of change and perhaps progress (or, conversely, non-progress)? Perhaps history helps us understand who we are today. That is, where and when we are born, may shape us more than the DNA we were born with.
