Introduction

Since time immemorial, man has always been seeking to stay at the helm of the planet as the most advanced species and the results are evident all round us. There is a remarked difference between now and a hundred years ago in the lifestyle and quality of life of man. The difference can be attributed to technological advancement that has been witnessed in the last fifty or so years (Kritt 2). Technology can acquire different meanings when applied in different contexts but the main two are skills or tools that are employed by man as he seeks to better his life. In recent times, technology has been synonymous with information technology whereby in that field, there has been a phenomenal growth to unprecedented heights (Socyberty 2009). However, when we talk about technology, every aspect of man’s life has been impacted and it is the aim of this paper to look at the cause and effects of technology in this generation.
